And it is back ... Creative Thinking Prompt #30

In the “Grow Creativity!” article, Candace Hackett Shively shares four aspects of creativity: fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. This article had me hooked from the beginning:

The world needs creative thinkers, scientists, engineers, leaders, and contributing workers. yet research repeatedly shows creativity is schooled out of us.

The Creative Thinking Challenge prompts focus on areas in all of these aspects and use ideas inspired by many different sources.

I would love for you to participate …

  • even if you don’t think you are very creative
  • the point of these prompts is to get the creative juices flowing
  • even if that only means letting small ideas begin to trickle out

I find that I get lots of new ideas from looking at the things others have done … and I bet we all interpret the prompts in unique ways.

The best part is that you get to choose how you want to respond to this prompt. And there is no deadline.

(I post past prompts on the Creative Thinking tab at the top of my blog)

I have a challenge for you!

And you even have choices in the challenge!

Option #1:

Find an image to illustrate each of the 4C topics: Collaboration, Communication, Creativity, and Critical Thinking. If you want, you can use a digital editing site like picmonkey.com or an app like pic-collage to label the images and make a collage! Or you can use a sticky note and a pen to label an image you find and then take a picture of it!

Option #2:

Develop creative and/or humorous explanations for why the images above are associated with that particular C word! You could even create a story or whatever you need to effectively express your ideas!

Even though there is no due date for the challenge, I think I may post something on the 15th of the month about why I chose to do this Creative Thinking Prompt this month … and maybe even describe the process I used to choose those images!

Do you accept the challenge?

I would love to see your creation!

You can send it to me, post a link in the comments, or send it by carrier pigeon …

Let’s Celebrate Creative Thinking!

It has been a while since I posted a Creative Thinking Prompt on the blog.

I used to post prompts twice a month … but then the first of a month went by without me posting … and then the 15th also went by without me posting …

By then I figured I was too far behind my own determined schedule to catch up …

So I didn’t …

But I have missed it!

So it is back … with a few changes …

And we will see how it goes!
